Cabin Creek Guest Ranch - Melstone

Riding and roping are a major part of our Ranch but there are many other chores that have to be done. We welcome you to become part of our lifestyle. We are always preparing for winter. The snow can get deep here. Hay needs to get in, wood needs to be chopped (this is quite the muscle builder). Keeping cattle in the pasture is important for breeding purposes, so fences need to be checked and fixed. If you stay in the fall you can get in on moving the bulls away from the cows, weaning and shipping the calves. Spring is the time for all the new babies, from calves and lambs to kittens and deer. It's also time to brand. Whether it's at our place or one of the neighbors, it's a good time for all. Any time of year the windmill may go down, so pulling the well is a possibility. If a storm passes through we may have to light the lanterns. A tire may go flat on the tractor and need repaired, so a trip to town may be in the cards. 'Oh Boy!' As you can see, life is never dull here around Cabin Creek. So if the cowboy way of life is something for you , give us a call and let Tammy or Dan make your ranching dream a vacation that you'll never forget. Pull on your boots, tighten up your stampede strings and come out for some peaceful, fun, relaxing country living.

We offer several different vacations to fit your needs:

Ranch Adventure: For the ultimate adventure we offer you a 2-week stay that includes a week at the ranch with an overnight stay in an authentic Cheyenne Tepee and an overnight trip to Yellowstone Park with optional day trips.

Cowboy Camp: For the true cowboy at heart we offer a 6-day camp that starts on Sunday and ends on Saturday. Every month there's a special event taking place. March is calving time, April is time for lambs to be born, May is time to brand the calves and shear the lambs, June is fix-up time, July is the heart of Rodeo Season, August is time to get caught up for winter, September we ship calves and lambs and October is hunting season.

Girls Only: For the girlfriends that need a getaway we offer a weekend to remember, starting on Friday evening and ending after lunch on Sunday. We feature several different activities to keep you busy from scrap booking, quilting, flower arranging, home spa treatments to just relaxing.

Country Weekend: A trip to the ranch can be any 3 days of the week. We're here to make your stay a relaxing getaway. We'll take care of the cooking and making the beds. You just sit back and relax. Feed the chickens, pick a strawberry, have a sunset ride or just lay back in the hammock

Bed and Breakfast: Whether it's just for you, or you and your horse need a place to stay and ride, we have a deal for you. We have thousands of acres for you to ride on. Just give us a call and we'll work out the details for you.
