Fall Hill Climb Series - Billings

Sunday, September 20, 2009 - Sunday, October 11, 2009

Billings Motorcycle Club is known for promoting extreme, western-style hill climbing and now we have added a mini season for those who want to ride just one more time before snow falls. The temperatures are cooler but the bikes get hotter and faster. Over 200 rider entries will make this an excellent family event.

BMC has been hill climbing "western-style" for more than 90 years and we have developed a sport that isn't for the fain of heart. Western style hill climbing requires riders to start at the base of the hill with virtually no running start. Large engines, proper gearing and special tires allow riders to hit high speeds in seconds. The hills are steep (near vertical in some areas) and filled with natural obstacles that riders must negotiate while streaking to the top. One small error can stop a bike and send it and the rider crashing down the hill. This is the original extreme sport.

A grassy fenced area allows visitors to get up close to the hill and the action. Crowds have a perfect view and the focus is purely on the riders and their motorcycles as one after the other charges up the hill. Some will make it over the top but just as many will take some breathtaking rides down when they hit the vertical walls of shale.

Spectators are welcome. Concessions are available and ample parking allows them to watch from a variety of vantage points. Remember to bring your lawn chairs because seating is very limited.

Come out and see some of the most extreme kind of motorcycle racing with some of the best riders in the world under the big Montana Sky!
