I used to dream that someday I would own a restaurant. Although I began working in them when I was in high school, I actually started to learn how to cook from both of my parents. My Mom taught me tomato sauces, meatballs and many of the home-style Italian dishes you will find on our menu. My father taught me how to make pizza, the art of saute and many of the other cooking techniques that we employ. The dishes on the menu that refer to 'a Zimorino Family Classic' are from the recipes that have been passed on to me from them.
I had the good fortune to own and operate an Italian restaurant in Missoula for twenty-five years. During those years I continued to learn and improve my craft. I started experimenting with different techniques and some other foods that interested me. My love of American food opened the door to the world of Barbecue, Southwestern Cuisine and of course, Beef. (After all, we are in Montana.)
Having reached my goals in Missoula, it was time to go. The concept for Zimorino's Arlee Grill allowed me to get out of the city and into the heart of the Jocko Valley, with a view of the Rattlesnake Mountains, serving my favorite foods, in a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere. The evolution of a dream!
We are all on the road to somewhere, whether it is self-discovery or Flathead Lake. Enjoy the ride!
