Averill's Flathead Lake Lodge - Bigfork

Averill's Flathead Lake Lodge has been owned and operated by the Averill family since 1945. Nestled on the shores of Flathead Lake, the largest natural freshwater lake west of the Mississippi, Flathead Lake Lodge is the only Mobil Four Star Rated Resort in Montana. Consistently rated as one of the best do all family vacations in the United States, the lodge specializes in weekly family vacations, from June 11 through September 11, that are all inclusive of meals, accommodations and all recreation.

Averill's Flathead Lake Lodge consists of two large log lodges and 20 individual cabin accommodations. The main lodge is the center of activities, housing our dining room, saddle sore saloon and three rooms. Enjoy a hot cup of coffee in front of our large walk in fireplace as you watch the sunset over Flathead Lake. Accommodations are situated along the 3,500 feet of shoreline of beautiful Flathead Lake.

Our South Lodge has 15 individual rooms all with private baths. These rooms accommodate from 2 to 4 people and share a cozy common area with walk-in fireplace and comfortable couches and chairs. Our individual family cottages will accommodate from two to seven and include a living room, private baths and from one to three bedrooms.

Meals are served family style and include fine cuts of meat, fresh vegetables and homemade breads and desserts. Our kitchen is run more like a home, check out what's for dinner, sample warm cookies as they come out of the oven or get a recipe. Our kitchen staff can accommodate any dietary need that you might have.

Recreation abounds at Flathead Lake Lodge. Guests can enjoy horseback riding, breakfast rides, lunch rides, dinner ride, children's arts and crafts, guided hikes, water-skiing, sailing, windsurfing, lake cruises, volleyball, horseshoes, tennis and more. Guests enjoy evening activities which include a barn dance, beach fire, heated pool, team penning, team roping and guest versus staff volleyball game. All these activities are included in the all inclusive per person rate.

Optional activities offered which are an additional charge are: whitewater rafting, guided fly fishing, raft fishing trips, lake charter fishing trips and kayak instruction.

Glacier National Park, the crown Jewel of the Continent, is only 35 miles to the north. Most guests will take a day trip to enjoy the beautiful scenery, great hiking and the Going to the Sun Highway.

Our guest clientele is a mix of people from all over the United States and Canada as well as several foreign countries. Guests fly into Kalispell, Montana on Delta, Northwest, Horizon and Big Sky Airlines. Flathead Lake Lodge can provide shuttle service from the airport and rental cares are available on a daily basis.

In our off season, May 1 to June 11 and September 11 to October 15, we accommodate executive retreats, conferences, art workshops and incentive groups. Our per person prices include meals, accommodations, recreation and all meeting rooms. We can customize your stay to fit any agenda. Most groups will meet partial days and take advantage of our recreation.
