Scenery Mountain Lookout Trail - Libby

The first section of Scenery Mountain Lookout Trail #649 is the easiest and follows Cedar Creek for approximately .8 mile; the climb becomes more difficult after reaching the junction. Scenery Mountain Lookout stands on the north end of the Cabinet Mountains Wilderness and offers magnificent views to the south. Trail 319 traverses the ridge to the west to Grambauer Mountain. The lookout is manned seasonally from June 15 to September 15. No motorized vehicles are permitted on this trail, and no vehicles are allowed within the wilderness boundary.

From Libby, travel west 4.5 miles on US Highway 2. Turn left onto Cedar Creek Road 402 and follow 2.5 miles to Cedar Creek Trail 141, which provides access to the Scenery Mountain Trail. Ample parking is available.
