Schnaus Cabin - Polebridge

Schnaus cabin is located 42 miles north of Columbia Falls, MT on the North Fork Road north of Polebridge. Schnaus cabin sits in the Whitefish Range of the Rocky Mountains. Schnaus has rustic accomodations including propane cook stove, heater, lights, wood stove, and vault toilet. Schnaus' party size limit is 12 with 2 double beds and a bunk bed on the main floor and twin beds in the loft. Please pack out what you brought including your garbage. Grizzly Bears live in the area; store your food, beverages, coolers, and garbage inside the cabin. Pets are not allowed. The Polebridge Mercantile is located 7 miles south and has limited supplies.

Reservations can be made one day in advance and a three night maximum stay limit. Clean the cabin when you leave. Rental fee is $50 per night. Refunds will not be given due to inclement weather, road conditions, too much or little snow, etc. Check in and out time is 2pm. The combination to the cabin will be on your letter of confirmation from NRRS.

Schnaus is located 42 miles north of Columbia Falls, MT on the North Fork Road (County Road #486). To find the North Fork Road take Nucleus Avenue north through Columbia Falls, turn east on Railroad Street at the stop sign, this becomes the North Fork Road as it travels over the railroad overpass. Continue north 42 miles on this gravel road to the intersection with Forest Road 10372 see sign for Schnaus Cabin, turn east, travel .3 miles turn north to Schnaus Cabin, follow the signs. Schnaus is seven miles north of the town of Polebridge. The North Fork Road is gravel, rough in spots and intermittently plowed during the winter months. 4 wheel drive and chains are recommended during the winter.
