Dave Blackburn's Kootenai Angler - Libby

The Kootenai River in northwest Montana is one of flyfishing's best kept secrets. This classic river of pristine beauty, located west of Glacier National Park, contains a native rainbow trout called the Columbia Redband, known for its exceptional strength and acrobatic fighting ability. Dave Blackburn, who has lived on the banks of the river since 1982, developed the first fly fishing guide service and fly shop on the river. Together with his personally trained and experienced staff, they will guide you on the Kootenai with its consistent hatches and exceptional dry fly fishing. The Kootenai Angler is available to outfit you with the latest ORVIS tackle. Fly fishing schools and non-angling activities also available. Join Blackburn to experience the uncrowded fly fishing and and spectacular scenery that northwest Montana has to offer.

River Bend Restaurant & Saloon added in 2001, it offers nightly specials in a fine dining atmosphere overlooking the Kootenai River with a full bar and wine list. Five cabins are also available. They are fully furnished and offer peace and quiet from one person to groups of 20.
