Description

Upper Canyon Ranch & Outfitting is a family-operated ranch situated in a canyon between three mountain ranges (Gravelly range, Snowcrest range, Greenhorn range) in the Beaverhead National Forest. SUMMER: The Ruby River channels through the canyon to the ranch to offer exclusive use of over two miles of the Ruby River and a private spring fed pond on the ranch, which is stocked with rainbow trout. We offer active to relaxing vacations, horseback riding, hiking, cattle drives, overnight pack trips and fly fishing at the ranch on the Ruby River. A fly fishing guide is available at the ranch to give instruction, and provide information on current water conditions and hatches. Also, we offer guided fly fishing trips on the Ruby, Big Hole, Madison, Jefferson, and Beaverhead Rivers.

You can stay in our modern two-bedroom cabins with kitchens or stay in our handicapped-accessible lodge with private rooms with private baths and home cooked meals. There is a conference room for meetings, family reunions and large groups. Upper Canyon Outfitters offers you a truly relaxing vacation.

GUIDED AND UNGUIDED HUNTS. Because of our location in the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest, we can offer a number of different types of hunts. We offer both guided and unguided hunts, for elk, mule deer, white-tail deer, buffalo and antelope. We are professional outfitters and guides, licensed with the State of Montana. All our guided hunts are five days, one guide for every two hunters. We offer guided hunts from our lodge, and a back country tent camp. On our unguided hunts, we show you the best access into an area and check with you each day on how effective the area was. We offer game retrieval for your harvested game at a minimal charge. Archery hunts are a specialty and our hunters do well.
