Cabin in Paradise - Emigrant

The log cabin has been stripped to the walls and completely redone inside. It's spacious and comfortable with a vaulted wood ceiling. The floors are pine. Cabin in Paradise is decorated with hand crafted and antique furniture. The cooking area is equipped with a full sized electric range, full sized refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, dishes, tableware, pots and pans, linens, and the necessary paper products. The dining table seats four comfortably. The private bath, added on at the time of renovation, is equipped with shower, pedestal sink, linens, and necessary bath items.

Our queen sized bed, which guests have called a beautiful work of art, was hand built by a talented Montana wood crafter. The Ethan Allen sofa converts into a second bed. Thus the cabin can sleep four comfortably. The free standing stove, specifically designed to heat larger areas, is fully automatic. The combination light/ceiling fan is very beautiful. There is a small library of videos, books, magazines, trail guides, local information, and games in the cabin.

The cabin has it's own private yard which is fenced and lined with shady trees. The cabin thus stays cool in the summer. The covered front porch with lounge chairs is a perfect place to relax with a morning mug of coffee or to star gaze at night. The yard has a picnic table, grill, and log lawn swing.

Cabin in Paradise is located in the historic, charming, and tiny community of Old Chico, Montana. Our quiet little town does not have a stop sign, pop machine, or even one store but it's long on history and conveniently close to many popular destinations of tourist interest. Here, remnants of mining activity dating from 1864 to the 1940's will stir the imagination and entice visitors to trace the steps of miners and mules while exploring the raw and awesome magnificence found along Emigrant Gulch Road by Emigrant Creek. The road ends high in the mountains after approximately eight miles of awesome rugged grander. The crystal clear waters tumbling and splashing down from the lofty peaks sing to the senses while cooling the gulch to a pleasant 50 or 60 degrees on summer evenings.

Make us your base camp in the spring when area ranchers move herds of cattle to summer grazing in the high meadows, when young elk, deer, and antelope are appearing in the pastures, when mists climb the mountains, and the wildflowers abound. Or visit us in the summer to fly fish the famous streams and lakes, hike, horseback ride, mountain bike, kayak, or float the crystal area waters. Summer is the time to take in a rodeo or attend many other colorful local events. In the fall when the cottonwoods, aspens, and the hillsides turn vivid gold against the purple mountains you will want a camera along for sure. Montana winter is so special as quiet descends and the peaks shine with caps of new snow. It is fun to listen and to hear no sounds at all. Winter is the perfect time to snow shoe or cross country ski or to simply hole up in our cozy cabin with hot apple cider. Whatever season you choose to come visit us, here in this last best place there is a certainty...the big Montana sky will put on a show for all.

Cabin in Paradise is a stone's toss from Emigrant Creek Road, a four minute stroll from thousands of acres of public Forest Service Land, 1 mile from Chico Hot Springs, 5 miles from the famous Yellowstone River, 8 miles from the beautiful mountain lake called Daily Lake, and 30 to 40 minutes from Yellowstone National Park. Bozeman, Montana with down hill skiing and the Gallatin Airport are an hour away.

Thrill to raft and drift boat river floats. Meet numerous area vendors who offer horse back rides, hot pools, live music, dances, convention center, and bike rentals. Go for a sleigh ride behind horses decked out with bells. Visit the many art galleries and antique shops in the area. View abundant and diverse wildlife and birds. Watch as our national symbol, the Bald Eagle, soars overhead. Check out mountain trails that lead to awesome vistas and lofty peaks.

If you enjoy rock climbing, rock hunting, or panning for treasures you will find all of that in the Paradise Valley. The landscape is an artist's and photographer's dream. Several famous artists, photographers, writers, poets, actors, filmmakers, and musicians live in, and find inspiration for their work here.
