Montana Tunesmith - Yellowstone National Park
Montana Tunesmith, made up of brothers Tim and Mike Nordstrom, have been making a name for themselves since they formed the group almost 10 years ago. Performing throughout Montana, they have wowed audiences with their acoustic sound and tight harmonies, delivering lively performances.
After the release of their first CD, Under Yellowstone Skies, their music quickly caught on throughout Montana and beyond its borders. Both locals and tourists have commented on the unique songs, which tend to leave lasting impressions. Under Yellowstone Skies was featured on both the World of Ducks Unlimited national radio show and the nationally syndicated radio show River City Folk (NPR). Montana Magazine wrote, 'If I had to put on CD in a time capsule to represent Montana, Under Yellowstone Skies would be it.'
Their second CD, Life is for the Living, was recorded in Austin, TX by Grammy winning producer Lloyd Maines immediately following work on his daughter's album, Home by the Dixie Chicks. The CD is loaded with everything from bluegrass to blues play by Tim and Mike Nordstrom and the Grammy winning musicians of the Home album.
Their next album, which is in the works, is an exciting collaboration with Grammy winning piano soloist George Winston, and the CD will include live cuts to showcase the band's high energy performances.
