Description

If you are planning a trip to Montana, you are probably planning a trip to Yellowstone, the world's oldest and most beloved national park. The non-profit Yellowstone Association, the National Park Service's partner in Yellowstone education, offers the world's largest selection of books, maps, videos, field guides, educational games and software about Yellowstone. Properly planning your Yellowstone trip can make the experience much more rewarding, and we will be glad to send you a free catalog or to suggest books which will match your family's interests. While in Yellowstone, be sure to visit the Yellowstone Association's attractive, complete sales areas located in all Yellowstone Visitor Centers. Our friendly, knowledgeable staff will be glad to help you find just the right item to answer your questions or to take home with you.

Over 800 visitors join us each year at the Yellowstone Institute, one of the Yellowstone Association's educational programs. Moderately priced three- to five-day classes suitable for a wide range of skill levels are offered including classes on Yellowstone history, ecology, wildlife, plants and wildflowers, art, and photography with learning adventures on horseback, with llamas or by canoe among our most popular. Most classes are located at the rustic and beautiful ‘Buffalo Ranch' facility, located in Yellowstone's quiet and lush Lamar Valley, home to Yellowstone elk, grizzly bears, moose, bison and wolves. on many quiet summer evenings, many of these animals can be safely observed from the cozy back porch of the Institute classroom building.

Each year, through educational sales and a membership and donor program, the Yellowstone Association is able to donate over $500,000 back to Yellowstone National Park to help support educational programs and scientific projects in the park. A $25 annual membership will entitle you and your family to discounts on Yellowstone Association sales items and on Yellowstone Institute classes plus free subscriptions to the park newspaper and also the the Association's membership newsletter, both of which will keep you up to date on current issues about Yellowstone, with the latest news on Yellowstone wildlife and articles on Yellowstone history, as well as a page for young Yellowstone fans. Plus, a large portion of your membership fee will go directly to helping ensure this treasured place is preserved for your children and grandchildren.

Call us and let us help you select trip planning materials. In addition, we'll be glad to send you a free catalog of our sales items and a free catalog of Yellowstone Institute courses, as well as give you more information on how you can become a Yellowstone member. Our phone is 307-344-2293; Monday through Friday, Mountain Time, or visit our web site at http;//www.nps.gov/yell/yellassn.htm
