Reception: Carol Hartman, “Defying the Odds” - Sidney

Large and colorful oil landscape paintings depict the overland and waterway trails taken by settlers of the MonDak region of Eastern Montana. Sidney native and accomplished artist Carol Hartman painted with her fingers instead of brushes “to maintain an even closer relationship to my paintings.” “I am quite proud of the early history of the region and of the many pioneers involved in its development,” she says. “This exhibition is created to honor that history and that incredibly beautiful and remote landscape.” The exhibit is on display Aug. 1-31.
